Movie Making Camp For Kids Offered At The Pelham Picture House

PELHAM, N.Y. -- Movie Making Camp will be held April 14 to 18 at the Pelham Picture House, for kids in kindergarten through fifth- grade.

The camp runs daily from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and includes animating, acting out scenes, and creating a music video inspired by "The Lego Movie." The week will end with a screening of the children's own short animated film and music video.

The sessions will focus on theatrical techniques that build skill sets in young filmmakers and performers.

The Movie Making Camp is taught by Beth Manspeizer, director of educational programming for the Picture House. Manspeizer has taught acting, directing, and improvisation at Rye Country Day School, the Rye Arts Center, the Jacob Burns Film Center and as an artist in residence in the Pelham schools. She has a bachelor's degree from Skidmore College in directing and acting, and a master of fine arts in Acting from the New School for Drama/Actors Studio Drama School.

The cost is $375 for the week and Picture House . members receive a 10 percent discount.
