The fair was run by Glenpointe and Teaneck's health department, division of public health, nursing and health education.

"People can learn there's a great deal of information that's available free to them in their community," said organizer Barbara Scanlon, corporate membership manager of Glenpointe.

More than 100 people attended Sunday to learn about weight control, heart disease, diabetes awareness, portion size and exercise.

Chiropractic, acupuncture, pediatric, and other information was available as well at the 33-year-old Teaneck center.

Scanlon said it was the first community health fair held recently but they hope to do more going forward.

"We're happy to be doing this and we look forward to many more successful events," she said.
