Andrew V. Santoro, 85, White Plains Resident

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains resident Andrew V. Santoro died on Saturday, Feb. 6. He was 85.

He was born in Port Chester to Michael and Angelina Santoro,

Santoro joined the U.S. Navy after high school. He served aboard the USS Hector during the Korean War. After the war, he went to work as a plumber. He worked for Local 21 for many years.

He was the past commander and longtime member of the American Legion, in Ardsley.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rita; daughter Natalie; son Paul and his wife, Sarah; and grandchildren Simone, Adam, Nevaeh and Julius.

Santoro was predeceased by his son Peter.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., in Dobbs Ferry. 

A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 535 Ashford Ave., in Ardsley.
