Storm Knocks Out Power To 800 In Mamaroneck

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Downed trees kept the Town and Village of Mamaroneck Police Departments busy Tuesday night.

Some 803 Con Ed customers in the Village of Mamaroneck and 118 in the Town of Mamaroneck lost power during the storm, the utility reported.

The storm that swept across the village and town left some damage along the way.  Some houses called the police to report wires downed by falling trees.

Downed trees temporarily closed Rockland Avenue and Grand Street until the trees could be moved.

There was also damage to vehicles. A 2012 Honda was damaged by a falling limb on Melbourne Avenue, and on Tompkins Avenue a 2011 Ford was hit by a branch.

As of Wednesday morning, 10 customers in the town and 45 in the village were without power, according to Con Edison.

For questions about when power will be restored, contact Con Edison at 1-800-75CONED (1-800-752-6633).
