The June 15 event has been moved to Lime Rock Park in Salisbury, says the show’s host and founder, Doug Zumbach. Sept. 7 is the only confirmed New Canaan date, and two other upcoming shows have been put on hold, the Advocate reported.
Disagreements center around the increasing crowds that cause traffic problems and pedestrian safety. On Tuesday, the New Canaan Police Commission granted just one permit for the event, the Advocate said.
Nearly 4,000 people and more than 400 cars attended the most recent event, held on May 4.
The event is typically held six times a year, the Advocate said. First Selectman Robert Mallozzi suggested holding the show twice a year – one in the spring and one in the fall – at a location such as New Canaan High School or Waveny Park.
