Hudson River Water Levels Are Projected To Rise

According to Poughkeepsie Journal, the new projections predict a rise between 10 and 54 inches for Hudson River levels by the 2080s, with the "medium" projection calling for a 25 inch increase.

An increase of 25 inches would result in the outside dining area of the Poughkeepsie Ice House on the Hudson restaurant, a portion of the city's skate park and almost all of Upper Landing Park would be under water daily at high tide.

At the highest projection levels, a 25 inch increase could occur as soon as the 2050s. The models account for melting water from Greenland and Antarctica, but not weather. A hurricane's storm surge would exacerbate the flooding, for example.
