The exhibit will run from May 6 through June 4.

It highlights the artistic expression of democratic uprisings that arose independently and spread across the Arab world in 2011.

In conjunction with the exhibit, contemporary Iranian artist Negin Sharifzadeh will show her sculptural and multi-media works.

Brooklyn-based artist Sharifzadeh’s “Laments in Gray” will be on view May 6 through June 25.

An opening reception and free all-ages art workshop will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Friday, May 6.

Both exhibitions were organized by Pelham residents Sylvia Iskander and Candace Taubner.

“Creative Dissent” put together by the Arab American National Museum and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in 2013.

The show, which contains 30 works, merges freedom of speech with artistic expression -- capturing anger, frustration, and hope of revolution in different media, including street art, photography and video.

The Pelham Art Center will be the exhibit’s final stop on its three-year tour of this exhibition.

The Pelham Art Center is located at 155 Fifth Ave., Pelham.
