The restaurant, which has been in White Plains since 2000, recently opened a second location, Mariachi Loco II, at 706 Central Park Avenue in Greenburgh.

Guillermo Arellano runs both restaurants, having a dream of being his own boss and offering authentic Mexican cuisine in the neighborhood. Arellano, who emigrated from Mexico in the mid-1980s thought Greenburgh would be the perfect place to expand following the success of the White Plains establishment.

Popular items at the new restaurant include traditional Mexican food like fajitas, enchiladas, and tamales. Guacamole is served homemade, right in front of the customers, while customers love flan and churros for dessert.

"We like being in Greenburgh," manager Raul Rojas said. "Greenburgh is a really happy place. People really want to taste authentic Mexican cuisine and we're really dedicated to bringing that to our guest. It's very important that everything is fresh and homemade. We want to deliver the best food to our guests."

Rojas, who loves a grilled cheese enchilada or a carnitas taco, said they hope to obtain their liquor license any day now.Rojas admits running two restaurants is challenging, but Arellano is determined to show he can pull off another successful restaurant. Arellano's wife, Martina and his five kids, do what they can to support Arellano and his restaurant dreams.

"It's very important that everything is fresh and homemade," Rojas said. "We want to deliver the best food to our guests."

Rojas said Arellano hopes to expand and open other locations.
