WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Fitch Ratings, a major financial rating organization, upgraded New York state’s credit ranking and general obligation bonds, reports the Westchester County Business Journal.
Fitch upgraded the state’s credit rating to AA+ and general obligation bond rating to AA+ from AA.
Moody’s Investors Service also upgraded New York State’s general obligation bonds to Aa1.
The upgrades gave New York its best ratings since 1972.
