The Tuckahoe Police Department issued an alert to residents regarding the counterfeit bills, which have been reported at several village businesses recently during the holiday season.

Police said that the money appears to be authentic at first glance, but does not have the correct “feel of real bills.” The bills have the same serial number: “MB10430044I” on the top left and bottom right of the bills.

Anyone who thinks they may have received counterfeit money, or any business owners who come across the fraudulent bills have been asked to contact the Tuckahoe Police Department by calling (914) 961-4800.
